Game day thread: Lethbridge Hurricanes @ Wheat Kings, 7:30 PM
11/12/2010 at 2:27 PM
Lethbridge Hurricanes (10-6-0-3, 4th in Eastern Conference)
Top scorers: Mitch Maxwell (6 goals, 8 assists, 14 points), Alex Kuvaev (8+5=13), Cam Braes (4+9=13), Jacob Berglund (4+8=12)
Top scoring defenceman: Reid Jackson (0+9=9)
Probable starting goaltender: Will guess that backup Dylan Tait (3-2-0, 3.52 goals against average, 0.895 save pct) gets the start with starter Brandon Anderson having gotten the call in the last two.
Manitobans: Michael Sofillas (Morden)
Brandon Wheat Kings (9-11-0-1, Tie-7th in Eastern Conference)
Top scorers: Mark Stone (14 goals, 14 assists, 28 points), Scott Glennie (2+18=20), Brenden Walker (8+7=15), Brodie Melnychuk (3+12=15)
Top scoring defenceman: Melnychuk (3+12=15)
Probable starting goaltender: Going to guess that Corbin Boes (0-4-0, 4.53 goals against avg, 0.864 save percentage) gets just his second home start of the season. That said, Boes' last start was against the Canes and he was pulled after letting in four goals on 14 shots so who knows.
After yesterday's win over the Medicine Hat Tigers, the Wheat Kings hope to continue a climb up the Eastern Conference standings tonight when the Lethbridge Hurricanes make their first visit of the season to Brandon.
The Wheat Kings have now won three straight at home and are 5-2-1 in their last eight games. One of those two regulation losses, however, was a 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Lethbridge.
Discussion in another thread is that Wheat King forward Michael Ferland may have suffered a minor injury in yesterday's game.
I'll have lineups 30-45 mins before game time. It would be great as always to hear peoples' thoughts pre and post-game.
