Fan Noise at the Wheat King games
3/5/2008 at 6:05 PM
I was told by a reliable source that the reason the train horn that blows when the Wheat Kings score had to be turned down because a complaint was made about it being too loud.
It was installed by a fan [me] about 10 or 12 years ago in the hope it would give the boys a lift and turn into something the road teams dreaded hearing. Never did I imagine that one our own would find a reason to turn it down.
In my world if you go to a sporting event, it might get loud. I was recently at two NHL games in the US with crowds approaching 20000 and the place went nuts when the home team started a rush in the neutral zone. It was out of control loud when the home team scored....quite an atmosphere
Hard to believe that in a "hockey hotbed" like Brandon that loud will not be tolerated.
I feel bad for the Wheat Kings & the Keystone as their hands are tied.
If you don't like loud go to the ballet. If you do like loud make some noise yourself
