I was there, all true. The guy has obvious issues. He shouldn't be allowed near any kind of youth sports.

I was also at games involving this coach this weekend. Disgusting behavior at best. I know most parents were commenting on his ridiculousness.

Has anyone written an official letter of complaint to BYSA? This should be done to hopefully prevent him from coaching in the future.

I know for a fact that several parents and coaches are emailing/calling the soccer office. An official complaint will also be filed from one team. If you want, contact BYSA at 204-725-2003, or email them at office@bysa.ca.

I'm sorry but I'll have to say you are wrong. My son was in the green team. He was never disrespectful. He was just serious about his coaching job. Thanks to him we had a great soccer season. He yelled at the kids to put them In there place as what they were doing. And if you don't see soccer as people who actually get passionate about you better keep your month shut. Your comment was irrelevant. The coach wasn't the bad guy. It was the ref. he was aggressive since the game before . Ref was already being impolite and cruel to him since Saturday.  
I loved his coaching job. And I would love to for my kids to be on his team again.

I watched 2 games where this coach, no coach is not the right word, lets say moron put on his show. One was in regular season and the other game was in the tournament. He is a total disgrace to the sport the way he treated the refs and his own players. I witnessed him argue with refs and berate them from the start of each game. Each game I watched he should have been ejected. Hope BYSA will do the right thing and never allow him to coach again. By the way the other teams/games in the league had great refs and coaches. Too bad this moron gave his team a bad rap!

That we have had him as a hockey coach, and my daughter and the team loved him.  
They even have requested him to coach, when the season was starting, they were telling him they hoped he would coach again.  
It was a rec mixed team, and the kids felt motivated and encouraged by him, and as a parent, I have seen better players because of him and his coaching.  
I seen equal play for all the players, I hope he coaches their team again this year, because the kids loved him and they had fun!!

my son as well, and he absolutely loved him. The kids (and parents for that matter)on his team never seemed to have any issues whatsoever. I would have him coach my child anytime!!

I was sitting next to many parents that had kids on that team, and they were just as disgusted with his behavior as the rest of the people watching. It must not have been your child that sat on the bench for all but five minutes of the game. Or your child that quit the team because it was his fault when they lost the week before. Or your child that got cramps because he did play the whole game because he's a good player. It is HOUSE LEAUGE- not the World Cup or even a travel team. EVERYONE PLAYS. Even the travel teams make sure everyone plays. And if ANYONE talks to an official the way he did, they need to be kicked out.

I think he was frustrated with the reffing- which is incredibly inconsistent, aggressive, unfair and simply awful.  
His behaviour was terrible and completely inappropriate for the field. Or anywhere for that matter, but neither the refs nor bysa have shown players parents or coaches any respect whatsoever this season.  
 

Looks like we have about a dozen coaches who are going to put the time in next year. Awesome to see. Not an easy job. Unless you are going to take the job on, be mindful of what commitments coaches actually make.  
But good to hear there will more people volunteering their time.  

The refs are normally kids that play soccer, an age group above or on a travel team. The Ref in Cheif was doing games while the other refs were at their games. The coaches actions are what this is about. Not the reffing or what caused it. Its about the way he CHOSE to act. In front of KIDS. BYSA is collecting emails and letters regarding this situaton to forward to the governing body for soccer.Also keep in mind just because some parents don't coach, it doesn't mean that they don't volunteer in some way for BYSA.

I am pretty sure the ref had dealt with this coach before and had had enough of him. I am glad that it was not a student reffing this game. Our son had him as a coach last year and we were not happy with him. He had an altercation with a parent on our team and there was a swearing match going on in front if the players. If he had any class he would have excused himself from both situations and acted like a grown up. We witnessed him sitting players on many occasions this year. This is house league soccer and everyone deserves to play. If you are there to win at all costs, then go to a higher level. I have a feeling that the parents who are supporting him here are all about the win. He set a terrible example for his players and tainted the win for the purple team. He then had the nerve to come back and shake hands after being ejected from the game. As his players were shaking hands, one of them was saying, "Thank the ref." to each boy. This is what his players learned from him, instead of how to lose with dignity.

If you remember green won 6-0 on Saturday against purple and they were wining on Sunday just before everything went down With the ref.  
So THANKS REF!!!

If you had any clue about soccer, you would realise that green had the wind in the first half, that pruple beat them every game during the regular season, and that DOES NOT EXCUSE THE COACHES BEHAVIOR.No one who volunteers their time should have to be berated and treated the way the ref was. The ref who basically made sure that there was soccer in Brandon this year.

I don't usually watch soccer. I was there though to see my nephew play. When I got there just after half time the score was 1-0. As far as I saw the ref didn't cause any of the goals. At that point the "coach" was already given a yellow card. The only things I noticed was this "coach" yelling at everyone and anyone, including the kids. This was at the time that the purple team was now up 2-1. The other thing I noticed, and commented on it to some of the parents there, was that there were 2 kids on the green sideline that didn't get on the field the whole time I was there. Again, I am not a soccer fan so don't know the rules. What I do know is that I didn't see anything warranted that would cause such an outburst from this guy. And yes, I do have 3 kids that play other sports and if that was my kids coach I would have been fuming. My kids are very competitive and I expect them to ALWAYS try their hardest (they don't have to be THE best just the best they are capable of) and I don't mind the coaches letting them know if they aren't but it should never be to the extent this "coach" did. And yes, some of the parents on the green team were embarrassed and disgusted by his tyrant. Hell I was and I just got there!!! So to you parents that maybe are okay with this, I am guessing and only guessing that it isn't your child that was told by him if they lost it was his fault. Or it wasn't your child that sat for the full half that I saw. He should be embarrassed and should not be allowed back. This is where the BYSA needs to step up and do something. I feel sorry for his child most of all. Just my input from a non soccer parent and just a spectator. Congrats to both teams for playing a great GAME Have a great summer everyone.
