I wouldn't trade him. He is one player you don't want to play against, very pesky. He does play on the edge, but if you're looking at going deeper in the playoffs you definitely want him on your team.

Hawryluk and the 2nd KM got yesterday for Sandheim from Calgary would be my trade.

I don't believe Kelly will do much more in trading, By looking at Kelowna and Red Deer, we wouldn't stand a chance either way. You would have to play Red Deer for Eastern and Kelowna for WHL, but anything can happen and that's what Kelly is banking on.

Trade Hawrylk but not for another puck moving dman. We need a true power forward.

Because of Patrick's birthdate he is not eligible for the NHL draft until 2017.

Warriors made a trade today with Vancouver where they give up some decent future assets (18 year old, 16 year old, 2nd round pick) for a 19 year old defenceman (Josh Thrower). Sign they may keep Point and try to make a go in the playoffs??

A let down tonight barely beat a last place team, they are mostly playing ok, but 33 has to be better, needs to win us some games. Next Friday will be the test to gauge our ability against the Mem cup hosts.

Havent seen Brandon Carlo (USA Workd Jr D) mentioned in this thread yet. Rockets Gm says at the link below that he doesn't believe he's available, but Tri City fits the profile of a team that could start looking at next year:

Was a bit pointless to sacrifice any young players for picking up players at the cost they were going for to make any kind of run this year. Dont stand a chance against red deer who loaded up for hosting the mem cup.

Yep 4-0 Brandon. Everyone was firing on all cylinder. Looked like a very ready and determined team. Red deer looked beatable as most teams are!

Maybe people will relax and see understand this league doesn't even start until Christmas. It's the same every year. Unpredictable junior hockey. Gotta love it

I believe he hasn't play since relieving Papirny during the beating Red Deer gave the WK. Why would any goalie want to play in Brandon other than to get experience carrying a clipboard and open the door. Are the WK going to keep PapirNY next year as a 20 year old? Give the vack up a chance before he also quits and goes home. Just an observation.

backup goalies. The situation you describe happens on ALL teams in all leagues.

The boys is a good goalie but why does he need to play when paps is getting shutouts like he did tonight. congratulations!

Paps was awful at the start of the season. Couldn't stop a beach ball. What happens if he is injured and you have no idea what the back up can do. The Winnipeg Jets recent play comes to mind. They are in the basement of the league because their starting goalie is hurt. Back up comes in and sucks, the players in front of him play horrible. These are kids. Would you want to travel with the team, not play with hopes of your team mate getting injured to get a chance. Makes no sense. Thompson when given a handful of opportunities to play was outstanding. I guess McK wants all the eggs in one basket. I would sooner play on a crappy team and get some playing time than open the gate and carry a clipboard. Perhaps it is a good experience to be a future coach.

Actually that's not the Jets' situation at all. Their call up goalie is doing well.

has started in 14 games, including games where Papirny was injured. Again, what your saying happens on ALL hockey teams in ALL league. When you have a starting goalie that doing great, your backup is on the bench. Jordan is 5th best goalie in the league. Logan will likely get tossed in to start a few games, but his role is as a backup.  
 
Everett Silvertips have played 45 games, and their starter (Carter Hart) has played 42 of them. Their back up has only been in 6 games.

the jets situation is much different, connor has played well and isnt the reason they arent in a playoff spot right now  
 
I honestly haven't been overly impressed when thompson has come in as backup / replacement as of late. Maybe we'll see him in Saskatoon tonight, but with Jordan playing as well as he is Thompson will probably be used sparingly.

Wheat Kings have won 4 of their last 5 and Paps has shutouts in 2 of their last three. And you want change? Some people are just never happy. Paps is playing much better than he was early in the season, now is not the time to sit him.
