Makes a guy wonder if the coach is reading this ebrandon thread!

I doubt that the couch on his 3 games in 3 nights road trip actually reads e Brandon to check what the concerns are of people who don't really have any say in how his team is run,have to say. I would have to disagree.

I suspect that it was known before the season amongst goalies at camp that the WKs have an established starter with playoff experience and that the spot being competed for this year was backup. I think Thompson's really improved from last year and has been excellent in that role and that it's likely any opportunity for more wouldn't be until a future season. That's usually the way it works unless you happen to be coming into an organization that doesn't have an experienced #1.  
 
There's another 3 games in 3 nights next weekend so wouldn't be surprised to see another start, but not sure what i'd expect after that. On one hand you don't want a tired starting goalie for the playoffs, but on the other the East is very competitive this year. A streak good or bad could be the difference between finishing 1st and finishing 6th. Most important thing is that the group as a team gets more and more ready for playoff hockey so that they're in a position to accomplish the great things they have potential to do in the next four months!

This is Brandon. Our fans are never happy!! 3 games in 3 nights on the road. 2 shut outs. Beat red deer last week. Not sure what they have to do to get some love from the fans. I'm still waiting for the fire Kelly thread to start up. Lol.

in their last 10. They have beaten some good teams in that stretch (Red Deer, PA x 2). Let's hope they have things on the right track now for the stretch run.

against the rebels tonight. Patrick scored late in the 3rd to tie it then Coulter gets the go ahead with less than 2 to go. Very nasty game that was well played. Held their composure all the way through.

Hey. you have to go with who's hot. being an ex goalie I know what it is like to sit out. You belong to a team and and you have a role to play until it is your time to shine. This is how it is in sports.

good win last night. 5-2 over the 7 game road trip. KM said that their schedule has been "ridiculous" over the past 3 weeks. Good job boys battling through that. Hopefully the upcoming homestand is just as successful.  
 
They were ranked 9th in the country last week - I don't see how they would slip from that this week.

What a win tonight against Saskatoon, 12 to 2 for the Wheat Kings and hawryluk had 5 goals. Seems like there loss against Red Deer a few months ago did more good than bad as they have been playing really good since.

I don't want to get too excited, but it sure seems like this year's team is rounding into form at just the right time. 8 games to go, would be nice to see a minimum of 6 more wins. It goes without saying, but Hawryluk and Patrick have become the best 1-2 punch in the league. They are dialed right in to each other. With one quick yell last night, Patrick found Hawryluk in the slot for his 5th - Patrick didn't even look up - he just new where Hawryluk was going to be!!! Fun to watch - keep it up boys.

Yes, it was an awesome game last night for the boys!!!

Goal of the night last night was povorov to Patrick on the 2 on 1. The speed from #9 to create that play was NHL caliber. Everyone who is a hockey fan should go watch this kid play ever time they can. He is going to be a star in the NHL.  
On another note. Tyler Coulter needs some credit for how he has turned his year around. He has 22 goals but most have come in the last 2 1/2 months of the season. Granted playing with #8 and Patrick have helped his totals. But he is a great fit on that line. Not bad for a kid that wasn't drafted in Bantam. He will look good with Patrick next year on our first line.  

A few good thing that I've noticed lately:  
 
-Provorov is just incredible: I've been trying to get friends who are just casual fans to go see games if only to watch him play.  
 
-Basically same as above for Patrick: he makes everyone on his line better. Has to be one of the best 17-year olds ever in the league.  
 
-I've always thought that Hawryluk was the one that really sparked the team over the past 4 seasons. Hard to believe that he's gotten to a much higher level lately!  
 
-Clague has really taken big steps forward over the past couple of months. His speed & puck movement/overall offense is matching the hype, after being pretty inconsistent for the past year (& injuries).  
 
-McGauley is closer to his incredible play of last season. He hasn't been quite the same since the shoulder injury, but I notice Him playing a bit better every game. I've experienced what Sounds much like his same injury, & wasn't the same for many months after.  
 
-overall team defence has gotten steadily better. We still have our "moments", and most of them seem to come in the 2nd period, but much better.  
 
Very fun games overal. This team deserves 4500-5000 fans per game. It would be great to see that from here on, and into the playoffs.

Proverov and Shayne Gostisbehere are going to be staples on the Flyers blue line for years to come. exciting stuff

Devil's advocate might point out that over those 25 games they're 7-0-2 vs non-playoff teams and 10-6-0 in 16 games vs teams that are in a playoff spot.... but even still, they've outscored playoff teams 66-38 over those 16 games which isn't too shabby in itself.  
 
Devil's advocate might also mention that they've lost to divisional and potential playoff opponents Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Regina over that stretch. Makes games vs Warriors and Pats in these last couple weeks that much more important!

3 games, 3 nights, out scored opponents 21-6. Devils Advocate slowly running out of talking points ...

They are starting to play up to their pre-season billing!! They are currently 2nd overall in the league, although Victoria, Kelowna and Leth hold games in hand.  
Keep it up boys!

I also find it very interesting that the WK hold 5 of the top 6 spots in league plus/minus.

is one of the best players in the league, hopefully he's here one more year but i'm pretty sure he'll be in florida's organization next year. I hope he does well!
