Wheat Kings go Alberta-heavy in draft
5/1/2008 at 12:21 PM
The WHL bantam draft is today and it looks like the Wheat Kings have taken Alberta kids with each of their first three picks.
First they traded up (swapped with Kelowna) to get Klarc Wilson, a winger from Edmonton. Wilson is described on the Wheat King site as a "game breaker with great instincts from the blueline in...he has an accurate shot...great hockey sense and huge offensive upside"
The scouting staff must be very high on Klarc to give up a pretty good pick to move up three spots and make sure we get him.
Then in the second and third they took forward Jason Swyripa and goalie Liam Liston.
We've already been pretty spoiled with solid bantam drafts the past two years.. here's to hoping this year's crop turns out just as well!
