There are 3 co-ed leagues (that I'm aware of, anyway) in town:
Monday Orthodox
Tuesday Orthodox
Wednesday Slowpitch
The first two are "orthodox" pitching, which is basically as fast as you can pitch it underhand, without using a windmill motion. Those leagues require male pitchers to pitch slower when throwing to female batters, if requested. I've never played in the Tuesday league, but my understanding is that it's more competitive, with fewer teams and plays on the nice diamonds out at Millenium Park for most of the season.
Wednesday is the league I'd consider the beer league. It's standard slow pitch (high arc), where all 10 batters bat every inning.
Unfortunately, the Wednesday league starts early: they actually started 2 days ago, so it will be too late to enter a team in that league.
The Monday league hasn't started yet, but registration is over and all team spots have been filled.
That leaves the Tuesday league as your only option in town, I think. As far as I know, they are still looking for teams.
Another option might be to ask around for options out of town. I know Virden has a league, and I''m sure there are several others in driving range. It is fairly late to be joining though, so they might be full too.
Edit: I'm wrong, there's a thursday league too. Here is the website for the Monday/Tuesday/Thursday orthodox leagues:
