Looks like a press conference is scheduled tomorrow at 12:15 by Curling Canada. Possible announcement that Brandon will host it's first Briar since 1982.

that would be amazing if they do - especially since they are selling out arena''s like Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, etc.  
 
The curling community always said we would never get another brier, due to not enough seating.  
 
Hope you are right Trevor or the speculation in the news is right!

good thing they are building another hotel!

This is great news. They haven’t had it in a City our size in a while ... it says a lot about our reputation as a host city that they’re willing to bring an event of this magnitude to town!  
 
Lot of quality teams in Manitoba but imagine there’s going to be a good chance of a Brandon or Westman-connected team playing on home ice.... not that Keystone Ice has been particularly lucky for McEwen at some recent events if it does end up being him in some capacity!

Looks like Brandon is the smallest city to have hosted the Brier. It's quite the recognition for the city to be selected for the third time.

This is great news! I really am excited. I know it's a long wait though.  
 
They will have great attendance here. Ther pairies have so many curling fans. I will be watching for early bird seating.  
 
On a side note...there is a great opportunity here for people to meet others. There will likely be lots of volunteer work with this event.

It is a lot of fun to volunteer at these events, so many different jobs to do.  
 
But, you do have to buy your "volunteer outfit" (I think mine was over $100 the year the Scottie's was here with the red cowboy hats"  
 
Some events if you volunteer, you can get in to watch the games free, other's you can not. Decision of the host committee.
