I tried to look online but could not find an accurate answer: Can anyone purchase a tag for deer? Or do you have to provide a hunters safety certificate?

Licence Requirements
To be eligible for a Manitoba hunting licence you must be
12 years of age or older, and possess a valid Manitoba
Hunter Education Certificate or equivalent from another
jurisdiction or a card issued under subsection 4(4) of the
Hunter Education Regulation MR 128/2007. See pages 63
and 64 for details.

Appreciate the replies, I just wanted to clarify as I (I dont hunt nor have fac, pal hunters safety) was in discussion with someone and he was telling me that anyone can purchase a license and to me that did mot make sense at all. Just wanted to confirm in my mind.

I was with my husband and we went to pick up our tags. I didn't have my wallet with me and the lady at the till told me I just have to tell her I have it. I don't actually have to produce my hunters safety for her too see for her too sell me a tag !!! I couldn't believe it.

The issuer of the license is by law supposed to ask and see the appropriate information. Does everyone do it No. Same as getting ammunition. Sometimes they don’t ask to see your pal but are supposed to

The selling vendor has to ask if you have it. It’s more of a law to have it on you while hunting as you could be fined if asked to present it from governing authorities

They have taken the onus off the vendor and placed it on the Hunter.

You must carry your Hunter Ed card when hunting. Either big game or birds.

Although u may be asked for it when buying your licence , some vendors may not.

In the end you must carry it on you with you PAL when hunting.....

I have been hunting for forty years. Usually get checked at least once per season by a warden, and have never been asked for my hunters safety card nor my pal. Others that I asked the same experience.

Don't need a PAL when archery hunting, or under direct supervision of some 18 or older that has a PAL.
