My apologies re- having to go back to the home page or discussion page. The links to active discussions are at the bottom of the page rather than on the right. Ignore my second post of feedback please!

The links weren’t there until about 15 min ago after your suggestion.

- Maybe it's just not finished updating but I don't have any ads in my Posted Ads page.

The short and simple answer is:  
 
If you post ads through the new site through the regular ad submission page when you're logged into your account, they'll show up on your Posted Ads page. The first time you submit an ad it'll be obvious how to do that on the ad submission page,  
 
The longer answer:  
 
This is the tug of war I have to navigate between the old non-account system and the account system. The old system of linking ads to accounts on the last site was not as smooth and if you aren't seeing ads of yours on that page it'll be because you didn't post them through the account link on the old site. Maybe you happened to use the same email address but that wasn't enough to link to an account. I do have the ability manually to do a lookup on ads posted under your email address and link them to your account. If there's anyone that have ads that they'd like linked just send me a quick note and i'll be happy to help.

No, sadly it just wasn't getting used enough to justify being a section and it didn't make the cut. There were a few folks like yourself that take such awesome pics that used it for what it was intended for but it was a lot more common for it to be getting mis-used for promotional stuff and even people using it to post the odd classified-ad-as-photo. Because of that whenever you'd go to it to browse it wasnt much of a browse, which the stats seemed to back up.  
 
If you have a great pic, discussions are the way to get it out. Forums on the new site let you attach a pic right to a post super easily. A good example would be the cool summer fair pics you took a while ago. If theres already a discussion on the fair you could add them to it. If there isn't, you can start one and I'd bet good money that folks would love to see your work (or play)!

I am accessing from a desktop. Same is on all pages. It seems as I type this it is a bold font. I am using Chrome browser. Maybe it is just my eyes as the font is a light grey. Titles in classifieds come in nice but I think those are bolded. Everything is tighter on the screen with a lot on either side of the thread wasted vs expanding the view to more of a full screen, which would probably be larger to see. I view the Brandon Sun online everyday and I think your fonts are the same but with the sun it looks like the writing is slightly larger. Either that or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

It would be nice if we could click on a "go to first unread post" button. Way easier for logged on people to get to where they left off.

Fun comments re the profile pic change. Another case of an update being long overdue. You can use your imagination as far as what is (or isn't) under the hat ;)  
 
One thing I meant to mention. The "tipping point" so to speak that started this project was an email from Google in September. They were preparing to change their search results to only take into account the mobile version of eBrandon. Because of how the internet and usage has changed, they're seeing so much of their audience being mobile that they're moving to reflect that in their search results. My pants were lucky to survive that day since if they made the change too quickly a lot of the content on eBrandon wouldn't have been available in Google not to mention folks' feature ads and client ad banners. The new setup makes sure that all content, features and ads are fully accessible no matter your screen size.  
 
Few more thoughts to ad to other folks' comments:  
 
NoSoup4U: Can you tell me what kind of device/screen you're looking at ads on? Guessing on a bigger screen? Might look at using a little more space with pics on the bigger screen... its a delicate balance between what to show initially and what to require a click to zoom on. BTW if you like pics, if you havent tried the new "grid" view I'd recommend having a look. Lets you browse a classified category in a lot more visual way. You'll see a couple icons on each ad browsing page that lets you flip view modes. About to include more info on this feature in a buzz post today.  
 
Fishin Guy: If that screen shot is what you're seeing everywhere, to my eye I'm just not seeing a big issue with the font itself. Its a grey but a dark one  
 
Trapper: Glad the dots are connected for you! Just make sure that for future ads you're posting them while logged into your account and it'll be smooth sailing for you from here.  
Can you tell me where you're clicking on Tires? I just did quick check by picking Auto Parts/Accessories and then the Tires tag. The page will take a second to reload and then it filters things down to only the tire and rim ads for me, but maybe there's another way you're getting to it that needs me to take a look!  
 
RichMond: great to hear you're enjoying. Change isn't always easy, especially in the new days of being forced to update some habits that could've been in place for a decade. Re pics, sadly you lose out to Fishin Guy as being the answer to the trivia question of being the first to add a picture to a post. If it isn't too much trouble I'm going to send you a PM with an email address. Can you send me a copy of the picture you were trying to upload so I can run a few tests? It does look like its working but there's some scenario, be it related to the file or the browser, that must be making it not work for at least yourself and I assume a few others.  
 
Also just wanted to add that for discussion posts that now could have related content such as buzz posts or images that people have attached, the app is setup to show links to that content too. App is still a quick and handy way to see stuff on the fly!

The discussion with the most recent post is SUPPOSED to be sorted at the top of the stack, but fails to display in that order. FYI I''m running Win 7.0 x64 using the latest build of Firefox. PS: My bad, should have been looking at the MOST RECENT vs the NEWEST discussions.

thx for taking a minute to share a thought and for a great example of how to use pics in a post. That particular listing is of the most recently started topics so that people can see what new discussions have been started..... so its doing what its told to. What you're looking for is "recently active topics" a little higher up the same page. The latter sorts threads in order of what has had a post most recently.

Great job on the refreshed site - long overdue!  
 
Trying to print a job ad (or any ad I suppose), would be a nice add on feature for future development. Right now a print gets the whole website page, not just the ad, and it is not clean enough with auto header/footer info overwriting the background text.

Overall like the new look. One glitch (for me anyway): printing classifieds doesn't work very well anymore. The 'share..' feature doen't i:nclude the print option anymore, and just going to the print function in my browser gives me a mess as far as the layout and format go. In the old version, page 1 always contained everything I needed, nicely laid out. Now the seller phone number is buried in small text at the right of page 2 and the pictures don't all show like they did before.

How do I start a new discussion on the new eBrandon? Tried the pen icon in the top right corner but it does nothing?

discussion page, the top right hand corner there is an orange box, that says "start new".

There is no orange box in the top corner of the discussion page on my phone only a pen symbol that does nothing.

Thanks for the kind words. A lot of waking hours went into this project and it’s great to see folks getting real world use out of it. I chatted with a couple folks before launch about what this thread might look like. I decided the best approach was to take the heat where necessary, admit mistakes as appropriate and be as clear in communication as I can be about the need for different changes, removals, additions. I know not everyone is going to agree with every decision but user is boss and so I try to find the best balance when I can.  
 
Re a printing option I have to admit that in all the mobile focus it completely slipped my mind. I’ll put it on the to-do list but likely looking at next week!  
 
Skinny Moon: Brenda described it how I would. The other option is right off of the front page. In the first horizontal black box there are reddish-orange buttons. One of them takes you to the discussion starting page. Do you by chance know how to take a screen shot that you could then include in this thread with the new “choose file” box that’s below posts? The page I’m thinking of should have a plus sign and not a pencil on it. Failing that, even a direct link. Thx!

The lettering in the discussion(Font) is very light grey and hard to read. As I type this it is bold but when it appears on site it is not the same. Otherwise I like the format. Took a moment to see whee I was. Still ebrandon. I am on desktop.

Getting very frustrated with this. My discussion page has absolutely no + the only plus sign is on classifieds. I don’t even have a homepage button. Took a screenshot of my discussion page but I don’t even know how to send it.

You have to go into a discussion category first before you can start a new thread. Same as it was before I’m pretty sure, I know it’s always been that way for classifieds anyway. Mobile only user here.

It sounds to me like you’re actually in the iPhone app and not the new website. Can you type https://eBrandon.ca into your web browser on your phone to make sure you’re starting from the front page of the site? If it’s easier send me a note through https://eBrandon.ca/contact.aspx and we can work through either this or how you can start a thread in the app

Little slow, but getting things figured out. From what I have experimented with, to start a new topic, I would just scroll down below the posts on a story, when you see the more topics logo click on it, it then takes you to a page that has the recently active topics, on the right hand side you should see the + add logo, click on that and you should be able to navigate from there.  
 
If I have messed the process up, remember my learning curve isn’t what it used to be.

Yes that is the issue. I downloaded the app for my I phone which has no new or plus button on discussion page. Thanks for that info.

I've attached the font I was looking at. I was using Chrome and Firefox.

.....it will take some getting used to but we had to get used to the other one too, so I think I can manage it.....nice new fresh look!

It Seems to have been corrected ,when I click on tires now as an example, all I get is tires and rims like you said

Personally, I find it easy to navigate. Great job done by the Ebrandon team. The only bug I've found (and had the same problem with in the old format) is that in order to find "The Plug Board", user has to use the search function to find it. It should be listed as a discussion category like all other categories. I would guess that a majority of Ebrandon subscribers don't even know The Plug Board category existed.  
Other than that, this new update is VERY clean, and reliably easy to use and navigate. Well done, Ebrandon team!
