Also for anyone that’s mentioning a light coloured font in the forums, can you possibly give me a little more info on the type of screen you’re looking at it on. I’ve looked at Fishin Guys screen capture and I’m not seeing a light grey font but I’m wondering if certain screens are presenting the dark grey colour that the font is set at differently.

Where did the menus go? I liked being able to look them up on here. Am I just not looking hard enough?

Not sure you'd want to hear this, but it looks so similar in layout & background that I can't easily tell the difference.  
 
The commercial as upgrade feature ads I purchase are now so far down the screen by scrolling that I doubt I'll get much viewings as compared to old layout .  
 
I know it had to be updated for cel phone useage. Just some constructive criticism from paying advertiser.

Yellowstraw: Sorry that you miss the menus. Any of the cuts werent an easy decision because I know that a few folks still used them but their time had come. A couple things:  
1) The menus had in many cases slowly become horribly out of date  
2) with the advent of online delivery services like Dash and Skip the Dishes, it had become a redundant section. Those guys do such a great job of showing restaurants' options that I found myself personally using them to see what restaurants had to offer. If I run the site and I'm not even using the section then its hard to expect enough other people to do the same to the point of justifying it as its own special section.  
For convenience sake Dash has sent me an graphic thats running on the Events page if you'd like a direct hook into menu info like what they offer.  
 
Ken@Ink: Thanks for your thoughts. I did go over a handful of random sites with the designer for some basic inspiration but respectfully that particular one wasn't among them. Every site has its own functionality and audience and needs to be tailored to its own unique situation. In working with our local designer we went for a nice, streamlined, responsive site that uses modern standards and makes use of the eBrandon brand that folks have become familiar with over the last almost 14 years and I couldn't be happier with what we collaborated on!  
 
Re feature classifieds on the main site page, I chose to group them with the other classified elements that folks many go down to to get a quick snapshot of before going into the classifieds themselves. I'll monitor clicks on them out of interest, but I'd expect it to be a nice little way to get extra exposure for an ad relative to the small cost.

Renewing ads isn’t working. I clicked on the email from ebrandon and got an error message.

Is the ad extending bug fixed for you, Johnbisonbear and Blueeyedbabe? I had someone else that had sent me a contact form submission that tells me it’s fixed for them so am assuming so... but want to be sure!  
 
Also still hoping for a little more feedback from folks with font concerns on what type of device/screen they’re using to try to understand how their screen displays greys and see if there’s a different grey that can accomplish the same thing. From what I can tell in how the sites designed the shade of grey is a very dark one that isn’t overly far from black but if it’s one that we can confidently identify has some kind of issue with certain screen types we can play around with other options!  
 
Just an aside, for anyone looking for support with the iPhone app as opposed to the new website please send me a contact note so we can keep this thread on ID-ing any bugs in the new site. Thx!

I am on a desk top but not sure how I can post a screen shot. I am typing this message and it appears dark but when I am reading discussion the font color is lighter.

and it worked, thanks! But I did receive two extension notices.

If I go to the classified ads, then click on 'dogs'....when the dog ads are on the page, there is a bar along the top that is:  
 
Home/ Classifieds/ Pets & Animals/ Dogs  
 
And if I click 'Pets & Animals' from the top, I get to all the pet ads on one page! Perfect!

It looks like by default the url is adding an extra forward slash, which I imagine isn't intentional.

Where do I find the private messages envelope that used to be at the center top of the page? Thought I'd looked everywhere . . . . .thx.

the search utility of the classified is missing?  
There is an option for keywords. But doesn't work as good as before.

how do I know if I have a new message the way had a flashing envelope .

Hey guys,  
You can access your inbox by going to your user menu and choosing "Messages Inbox." You're right that there should be some kind of more obvious feedback when there's a new message. I''ll add an envelope in the top bar when theres a message waiting, but it''ll have to wait until later tonight!  
 
On those same lines one update I did make is email alerts on private messages. If you get a new message you're supposed to get an email telling you so. It was tested and worked, but I noticed I didn't seem to get an email for a PM I got yesterday and so might have to do a little more digging to make sure all's working as intended. This option might not be for everyone and can be turned off in your profile settings.  
 
Re searching, I'll continue monitoring the search option over time and will explore different options to tweak it. Its a balance between having results that are too specific that preclude other things that might be matches, but not being too general that the list of results isn't useful to browse!

I was pleased to have this new feature added to your site, Adam. I don't necessarily login daily, so would not have checked my inbox, so this is a nice feature to have.

I had posted something earlier with a "bug report" but I realized that I didn't look hard enough. Anyway, I tried to delete this discussion reply, but all I could do is post a blank reply. Haha, there's a bug report for ya I guess!

Alrighty, to update... if you have a new unread message in your inbox you'll now see an envelope icon at the top of the screen that links to your inbox. If you dont you wont. Setup to work on all screen size variations of the site.  
 
Thanks for the update on your inbox email alert Jean, great to hear its working. I've confirmed its working for me too... just looks like it was going into my Gmail "updates" folder. This was a feature I'd been getting asked about for years... Simple thing that opens up a lot of doors!

good morning i have experienced a difficulty in posting an ad, specifically not receiving a confirmation. I am a member of ebrandon and have not had this issue before .  
I am thinking that this may possibly related to my system as the site will not keep me logged in and there seems to be other ads being posted. I did contact site support but have not received a reply. thank you
