anyone know if there is somewhere in Brandon that collects brita filters for recycle?

A bit of a nuisance but an option...

I did know about that program, and they have a few other ones, for sharpies, and other different things as well (shoes, the foiled fruit snack bags, etc) that I thought were kinda neat.  
 
However, Thing is, like you said, kinda a pain - to send just one on a truck to where ever seems to me to defeat the purpose/and environmental benefit of "recycling" the cartridge, lol.  
 
We only use about 1 a year, so don't really want to store a used cartridge for 5 years to make enough to be worthwhile sending. =0(

Toss it into the blue recycle bin. They always take it no bother. It’s just plastic filled with charcoal.

Do they though? I mean you can throw anything in the blue bin however that doesnt necessarily mean its accepted at the recycling facility and isnt just sorted into the garbage pile like the clam shell type plastic containers or black plastic in general.

Anything is in my blue bin that doesn’t recycle our collection guy leaves it in there. Small town though.

Fair enough. Seems every town/city has a different list as to what is/isnt accepted as recyclable which isnt frustrating at all /sarcasm.

I phoned City of Brandon Sanitation a long while ago and they DO NOT recycle brita filters. They said throw in garbage. It is hard to do, but it is better than throwing in recycling when it doesn't belong there.
