Twice I have received a call with a robot called Alice in regards to my warranty on vehicle. It tells me that I have to finished getting the warranty approved (or something to that effect). You are asked to say YES (which I did not say) to get another Alice. She states the pretty well the same thing. I asked her which vehicle. She tells me the one I drive. I said you calling me you should have which vehicle it is. Of course, hang up. So beware. I don't know what would happen if I gave her a vehicle name!

IF it’s a number I don’t recognize I don’t answer it ever….. I let it go to voicemail, if it’s that important then they will leave a message. And then I block it.

There is a great feature on iPhone (possibly others but I only know iPhone) that I have started using. If it not a recognized number it goes straight to voicemail. I don't get a ring or vibration. It is great especially during work hours for those annoying calls. if it is a real person with real information they leave a voicemail and I can call back at my convenience.  
Settings, apps, phone screen unknown callers gives you a couple of options...you can get all calls, it will ask for the reason calling and either ring or send to voicemail or silence all unknown calls.

I never answer calls anymore simply for this fact. Having an Android phone, my phone settings are set up so that any number that is identified as possible spam shows up that way as a caller, so I won't answer, and if it isn't identified that way, but isn't a local number I know, then it activates the Google assistant, who answers the call and asks who is calling and what the call pertains to. If it's a robo call or a spam caller, they immediately just disconnect because they know they won't get anywhere. Answering a phone call these days just isn't worth it anymore if you don't know who it is.

There are million scams all over, just don't answer the phone, I don't normally take calls unless they text me first and if its someone I know.
