banking

I bank with Scotiabank. I've had higher fees, but after changing my account when my business changed, it worked out good and it's consistent every month. I think I pay around $40 a month and do maybe 50-100 transactions? Could be more. I will say that scotia is probably right on par in price to other major banks, which I know isn't cheap, but their customer service is what keeps me. Here's why:
The lines aren't super long, and if they are, move fairly quickly. Usually if they are really long, someone goes through the line to see if anything can be done at the ATM instead of the teller.
The tellers are all very friendly, usually greeting me by first name and asking about my family, etc.
Of course there's always going to be things that need ironing out, I usually get the supervisor to override any "rules" because I'm a regular and they know who I am. Same with replacing a bank card and not having any ID. They've done that too. They've gone above and beyond when they didn't have to.
You can also tweet them for help! I've tweeted scotia for anything from issues with my debit card, needing to raise my daily limit, or having to make changes to my account. All I do is tweet I need help, they message me, I provide my name and postal code and THEY CALL ME! None of this waiting in a que for a real person.
They verify my identity and proceed to fix whatever I need. Even if it's 7pm when my bank is closed and I don't have time to wait until tomorrow.
I've often thought about switching banks, but they do go above and beyond, so I really can't complain.. And when I do complain, they resolve the issues right away.. Even if I do tweet that I'm upset haha.
If I ever did switch banks though, my second choice would be sunrise credit union. Heard so much good about them!
