Just wondering if anyone can help me. Any time I try to apply for a job in the Brandon vicinity - whether it be to City of Brandon, Prairie Mountain Health, Brandon School Division and try to upload my resume and cover letter - I don't have the type of document corresponding to what they want. They want docx, dox, pdf, etc. I even tried to apply to an international company and it wouldn't take my correspondence with wps, or odt. If I have to run around Brandon dropping off resumes - I guess I will have to. But what about applying for jobs outside of Brandon (too far to drive)? I am getting very discouraged - any help would be greatly appreciated as to how I can perhaps get the right type of documents for these jobs.

I forgot to mention I did get my resume transferred over to docx (time limit on this docx and then I will have to pay for the program). And I don't want to have to do that. When I was applying to the international company that indicated it would take docx documents - they refused my resume with the docx. I need help with the cover letters also. What am I doing wrong?

Download Microsoft word. You can get it on mobile as well.. works great.. every pc has word so you should have no problems

Your document is in .wps? You should be able to go to “save as” in that program and save it as a .pdf. You don’t need a special program to open .pdf’s - if you don’t have adobe, it’ll open in as a file in your internet explorer.

That's good. I stay away from anything Adobe. Download Sumatra PDF. It's free and does everything Adobe does and better in my opinion. Just convert your resume to whatever format they are asking for.

There is a free version of this program. Install it and its like a printer option. You can then print your resume to pdf and its ready to upload
