I recently moved into a new place, which had quite a few leftovers from the last tenant, which i:ncluded quite a few telco devices. MTS and Westman have been dealt with, but I still have a shaw direct DVR.  
 
I called their support, and the person (not knowing where to refer me locally) essentially told me not to worry about it. Don't imagine his boss would agree.  
 
But none the less, has anyone else here dealt with them before?  
Or should I just send it back to Winnipeg with a family member (to be dropped off at a shaw outlet)?  
 
I could pitch it. But knowing how much these things cost, I'd rather do the right thing.

Shaw Direct set top boxes/pvr''s are owned not rented. So if you are not needing it you could donate/sell/dispose e-waste. Or get in touch with the previous tenant.

They don’t want it because it’s not theirs. You have to buy them not rent like Westman.
