Unless they keep tabs on VPN associated IP's (I believe Netflix, Hulu and others do as a matter of MPAA compliance), it's a possibility.
It depends what you mean by subs:cription. If you mean using a credit card, be careful. I'm not sure if the card number can give away your national origin, but even if not, your out that cash if the content provider eventually blocks the American VPN server you're using.
