I have an iPhone 6, everything was great with it until about a week ago. It sometimes “freezes” and I can’t do anything. But the clockhamd moves on the app, time advances, etc. When it does this I can’t power it down and doing a hard reset does nothing. It seems like when I have it plugged in it works better.  
 
Any thoughts on whether it is s touchscreen issue, hardware issue, or other? Anyone ever had this issue?

I had the same issue, it only gets worse. You will need to get a new battery put in and it will be good as new.

I'm having the same issues with my iPhone 6 right now. That and the battery will go from 100% to 60% to dead in under an hour. I'm hoping a new battery will fix it right up. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go for the new battery/installation?

Take your phone to cell mechanics on Victoria. They are quick and you’ll have no more issues. Mine is an iPhone 6 as well.

I too have an iPhone 6S and the battery drains awfully quick. Or I’ll go on Snapchat at 100% and my phone will freeze up then shut off. When it turns back on the battery says 10%. Snapchat already drains my battery badly enough, but it’s ridiculous. Maybe these glitches are just an iPhone 6 thing?

Apple was replacing iPhone 6 and later batteries for $29.00 but only to end of December 2018. Plus you had to send it into Winnipeg and pay for the shipping and wait for them to send it back. Now that price has jumped to $79 plus tax and shipping unless you’re driving into Winnipeg but then you have to make an appointment. Too much headache.  
 
The cell mechanics are quick, responsible and very polite. I think it was like $60 and done in 20 minutes.

This is a well-known problem with the iPhone 6 but you do NOT need a new battery! I had this happen to me about a month ago (battery discharging quickly, freezing etc.) & what causes it is when the iPhone 6 automatically upgrades to version 12 something. First thing you do is back-up your phone to your computer or the Cloud. Then, reset it to the factory settings. It wipes everything out BUT the wretched phone works after this. THEN you have turn off the automatic upgrade feature. Otherwise your iPhone 6 will happily go back to all the battery draining, freezing etc. It's all on the Internet & will save you $$$.

The reset part is under Settings then General then scroll down to near the bottom & it says "Reset".  
 
To turn off upgrades go to Settings then iTunes & Apps then scroll to bottom of list & you'll see the spot to turn upgrades on & off.
