we are considering cancelling our subs:cription to cable. Problem is I am addicted to all of the new shows when they come on?!  
I know there is netflix and crave etc.....but what else is out there to watch the new shows that are on?  
We do have a smart TV

If you need to watch the new shows as soon as they release then your best bet is to probably keep your cable, and if you have a diverse list of shows that requires you subscribing to multiple streaming services you probably won't be very far ahead based on cost of cable.

Alot of the of tv channels have streaming channels. just buy the ones you want. i know there is a channel for global & cbs probably others. just get little device you that you stick to the back of the tv. google has one , amazon has the fire stick , apple tv & roku witch is the one i have. it also has hundreds of other channels most of witch are free. some like netflix cost you. just depends on the channel. we do not have cable

Amazon prime has a streaming service that comes free if you buy Prime. Think its about $80 per year. It also has options to subscribe to traditional TV channels or groupings and gives you the benefit of watching live or on demand.  
 
For example Stack TV i:ncludes most of the basic cable channels such as food network and Global and many others. They have many others like Starz and all that. If you want HBO though you will need to subscribe to Crave which is $20 with the HBO package.

yes we have the amazon Prime and have now subscribed to Stack Tv as well. So far so good.  
Found you can watch anything that was on Global as a live option so just have to figure out times of certain shows....or how to set up to PVR any of these things? Can you PVR anything or "tape" anything from these to watch later?

If you get lots of value from your tv subs:cription maybe just keep it.

have the lite package from westman and just add the channels I want and its $50 a month, inlcluding some movie channels including amc,movietime,scvault,lifetime,rewind,silverscreen classics,scifi (used to be space channel), and then the other channels I wanted.  
I've asked if they can get the channel chch.com/shows from Hamilton I think? It's got alot of good old shows if some people were into that. Don't know if westman will get it or not. Won't hurt. Wrote to the company and forwarded their response to westman. I've never tried roku etc and dont use a smart tv.

If you have a smart tv or apple box or roku, you get the app for the channel you want and you’ll get free access to new shows for the first week.if you forget then you miss out. You can also buy seasons of shows on Apple . We also have an indoor antenna to get channel 4. The biggest challenge to no cable is sports.

I cancelled my MTS tv service about 6 weeks ago. I thought I would miss it. I don’t! In fact I have more channels to watch now, including other new to me series. The only thing I miss in the $100 per month bill.

are you using to get all those channels ? That's good savings lol

are you using. We were paying 130$ fro our TV. We live in the country so not a lot of options unfortunately.  
So far happy with Prime and Stack and way less money. Just wanting to see what other options are out there.
