Planning to purchase and install a Smart Door Bell. I want to use a wired unit to make use of the existing wiring, chime etc. I also want a unit that will record video , without subs:cription and will work in our cold weather. It will be located on a side wall so a wedge mounting plate will have to be used. Some seem to come with a 15 degree plate but I am not sure that would be enough to get a view of the walk and steps. Any recommendations?

I looked at the doorbell type ones but my view was limited. I ended up going with one on the corner of my house under the eaves. It's wifi but I had to run power to it. You have to buy a mini sd card separately. I can see it on my phone or my pc and it's moveable. I bought it on line from Aliexpress and it was cheap. I added one in the back as well. Even with the recent cold it worked great.

We got eufy doorbells and it is working great. We didn't have existing power so got battery ones but there are hardwired options available as well. No subscription but can record and be seen on phone. Came with mounting wedge as well
