Did Victoria School of B & T steal Apple's logo?

This has been in the news over the last couple of days...
The Victoria School of Business and Technology received a letter from Apple Computer recently accusing it of infringing on it's trademark with it's school logo.
The school's logo consists of a (lowercase a) apple and has a modern look to it. It differs in that it has the initials "VSBT" on it, it has an outline of a mountain inside of it, has three bumps on top and does not have a bite out of it.
When you look at the logos in the right-hand column of this post or in the linked article below, what are your thoughts on the similarities or lack thereof? and would those similarities have possibly led you to believe that this tech-oriented school was associated with (uppercase A) Apple the computer company as they contend?
