I just dowloaded Ie 8 beta. I never was a fan of any of the explorer browsers. I have used Netscape/opera/Safari and then I did try Google chrome but it has gizmos on it that I did not need and went back to opera 9.6 with the speeed dial etc.  
 
The new IE is great- It let me easily get rid off all those hanger on tool bars plus it gives me far more screen "room" than the other browswers including the skimpish Safari. It is kinda cool The part I like best so far is all the screen info is shown as a bare minimum (buttons and sorts at the top) unless you move your curser there-boom the controls are back!.I go from bare info to any and all bars I need kinda like a glorified control panel. Normally I need to change these settings on a case by case basis.  
 
I will continue to play with this browser for awhile but it is worth a look see for those interested!!
