tv extra warranty psp

Just a question for someone to jump on.
Has anyone had problems with their plasma tv's? Reason I am asking is will any problems occur in 4 years to justify spending an extra 450 bucks to line future shops pocket. I think for the money being spent having 4 years of problem free tv should be the rule, not the exception. I have never had a tv even go into the repair shop in 15 years.
