Hi! I deleted/removed windows messenger but am still getting messages (NOT Live Messenger)?  
I went to the control panel, removed the windows messenger component so that I would not get messages through there....  
 
Now I get messages all the time from one of my contacts who can message me at any time as they can see me online.... even if all I am doing is going through my photos or whatever... alas they also do not get the message that I am NOT online and I still end up talking to them for ages if only just repeating over and over that i am not online and am in fact very busy.  
 
OK... I DO have Windows Live Messenger too... and so last time this happened I went to there and unchecked the "sign me in automatically" button (which actually never worked anyway) and thought that might have fixed the issue. It didn't.  
 
So today once again... a message. Gah.  
 
This started happening rather recently and I have no idea how to make it stop... as all I get are message windows not the actual program window with the contacts list etc... seeing as the program is deleted from my computer!  
 
Anyone out there who can stop me going completely insane by eradicating this problem will have my total gratitude.  
 
(PS why am I bothered about Windows Messenger opening when I have Live Messenger anyway??? Because Live Messenger signs me in as invisible!!! :-P I can be in control of who sees me online)
