This came up in another thread and seems like it warrants one of its own.
For HD TV owners, what are your thoughts on 1080p "full HD" vs 720p "HD" resolutions?
As far as television, my understanding for satellite at least is that we can't realistically expect 1080p to be delivered through the air any time soon... so when you get 1080p, it's more for Blu rays and some games that are made specifically for it.
So there really are two questions here..
- How much difference do you believe there to be between the two if you were to watch the exact same movie on side-by-side TVs, one 720 one 1080
- If you were buying a TV today, would you spend slightly more for 1080 or pocket the savings and settle on 720? and if so, is there a certain TV size where your opinion changes?
