MTS and Dlink router issues

I am new to Manitoba and have been issues with my internet since I got here and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
There seems to be an issue between my dlink wireless router and the MTS modem. MTS says it is the router. Dlink says it is the modem. It will work fine for awhile and then it will keep dropping the connection so we will have to reset the connection and start everything from scratch. This is time consumming and starting to be a real pain in the butt. Our router worked fine in NB with Rogers internet and we even tried buying a new router here and it did the same thing, so it's not simply a faulty router.
Has anyone out there had success with a dlink router on MTS internet?
Any suggestions?
