Are hard copied photographs in a shoebox going to be a thing of the past?

Just wondering how many of you take the time to have your digital photos hard-copied?
I love my old shoeboxes of pics, but I have become so lazy as to keep them all on the computer and I think it's not such a great idea, should something crash.
Writing this post, I think I better get some of these 800 photos hard copied for the sake of generations ahead.
