Buying a New Laptop PLS HELP

I am looking to buy a NEW Laptop.
Price range: no higher than $800
I currently have a Dell Inspiron 1300.
It works great just want something new.
I use my laptop for the following:
-downloading music/movies
-burning CDs
-internet(wireless)
-Typing programs
-pitctures
What I need/am asking for your help with is:
-where in town to shop?
-or a specific laptop you have and love.
or anyother helpful tips.
