remote control challenged

Could someone please help me? Here the scenerio: I have two tv's with two different cable box's. Tv "a" wouldn't change channels so i used the remote from tv "b" to try and program it I got a picture but can't change the channel. So now, i go back to tv "b" and i cant change the channel on that one? I go through the steps on the back of the remote and no luck. Stuck on the channel i left it on. So now i have two tv's with only one channel each. any suggestions? Thanks....Technologically challenged.
