Internet Explorer help please

Our internet explorer isn't working. Internet connection is working as I can run other programs that need it. But when opening internet explorer it goes to homepage and 2 seconds later it says windows is searching for a problem. Then a window pops up saying IE has stopped working and a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. So I clicked on close program (only option). Then it does it all over again. Any ideas how to fix this??
