Vista and FTP

I had vista installed on my new computer.....my first mistake! Vista doesn't seem to be compatable with a number of programs. I am having problems with my ftp program being compatable....WS FTP doesn't work properly . I have tried Smart FTP because it was suppose to be compatable...NOT..
Has anyone had any luck with Vista and a FTP program?
