I am in need of a printer but have no idea what to get.  
 
I want something cheap, nothing over $60 (I have seem some on sale for that much or less) all I will be using it for is to print color pages ever once in a while. it doesn't need to be fancy, just needs to get the job done... I also don't want it to break within three months though...  
 
Anyone have any recommendations of something I should check out, or even if you can tell me what to stay away from that would be great!

has some sales I saw yesterday. cheap. I got one from the Source in mall a few weeks ago for $30.00. Copy/scan/print. Comes with small cartridge which can be filled or bought for a song. You could call there. (204) 571-1018

Most printers now have wifi making them more expensive with added technology. Seldom can you find a wifi printer/scanner for under $60 if you do its likely uses only 2 cartridge.  
 
My suggestion is that you look for a printer that uses 4 cartridges.Black cyan, magenta, yellow (especially if you are printing color) Try not to get a printer that only uses 2 cartridges 1- black + 1 for cyan/magenta/color (called a tri-color)  
 
Here's the reason- in the tricolor if you print alot of blue - they cyan chamber will drain faster then the other two colors. Once one chamber is empty it tells you to buy a new cartridge even though there is still ink in the other two chanmber. Major brand companie like that as they are selling their tri-color cartridge for as much as the printer ($40-60)  
 
If you buy a printer with 4 individual cartridges then you can replace only the colors you run out of. Most of our cartridges of this type are in the $12-15  
range. Others here will likely agree.  
 
The economics are that you only buy what you need. & not throw out a cartridge that still has ink in it.  
 
You can find many printer choices at Staple/Best buy/ walmart.As well as name brand cartridges Brother & Epson commonly use 4 cartridge systems canon/hp usually use 2 cartridges systems.
