    When you phone someone, and you call, with 1-204, but it is not a long distance call - MTS will respond with  
    The number you have dialed, is not a long distance call. Do not dial the digit 1, before the number you are calling.  
     
    Why, oh why, can't they just PUT THE CALL THROUGH, anyway?

    I get that lots. Then, the next time I dial I get the "the number you have dialed is a long distance number. Please hang up and try again".  
     
    On other occasions when working in the field, when my dad in one combine 300m away tries to phone me. Phone doesn't ring just goes to voicemail. We should go back to the time cup and string method I think. Mts service is terrible

    This drives me crazy!! We don't have radios and depend on cell phones. When my dad is say 20 ft away when I am unloading and it goes straight to voicemail, it makes me hate MTS even more.

    they did change the long distance to go straight through tho now so im sure it could work the other way but LD was probably more of a priority because they would likely have gained a few more calls now it connects anyway
