Quebec wants own internet domain extension

It looks like the Parti Quebecois is leading the charge to try to get Quebec it's own .qc internet domain name extension so that websites could be to the tune of www.websitename.qc

Normally this kind of priviledge is reserved for countries... for example .ca for Canada, .ru for Russia, etc etc.
Right now like any other province they have a sub-domain, .qc.ca (we have .mb.ca, Saskatchewan .sk.ca, etc etc)
What do eBrandonners think?
