Yeah its at the youth center , just had the last one last Saturday
I think it’s a great program
But then I am biased , I am running the program
Next one will probably be April 22, or 29th not sure , we are kind of short on Hardware at this point , but it will come in
The program is all ran Volunteer and by donation from local companies ( many thanks to all I am not sure I can list any )
Kids come in and we teach them how to build computers from scratch. so for example we just completed the last class had 6 kids , but we used 27 computers to build 8 computers. Kids build the computers and get to take them home with them as their own when done.
We can only do 8 kids at a time so if you want your kid in April call and sign them in . I think there are 5 spots left as of today
We are hoping to do this every month once we have enough hardware in the pipe. We are also trying to get these programs ran by the kids for the kids , with as minimal supervision as we can at least on the tech side
These kids are good
Anyways the program is Called “bits and bytes “ and age is 10- 17 We are also starting another program Computer / hardware related March 20th will be the first one , Called “DeBug”
You register, name, age and computer problem , and you get to bring it in and we will have a round table and fix it With you limit per class is dependent on problems brought to table , but I am thinking with only me as a tech we would probably limit it to 10 computers. We will see how that goes
Again all programs are Free to kids and all hardware is donated by local companies in the westman area
