I have Windows 7 Home Premium and Internet Explorer. All updates done.  
 
Problem is that everytime I'm scrolling down a list of items, (eg. Ebay shopping) and I click on one item partway down the page, then when I click "back" it takes me back to the very top of the page, not where I was at scrolling down the list before I clicked on the item. It's annoying having to scroll down the whole page to find where I left off previously. I suspect it's an Explorer setting of some sort? I usually can find what I need on Youtube but have no idea what to put in the search for this particular problem. Any ideas?

I have the same issue through my browser on Windows 10. The only way I combat this is by r-clicking and open in new window. Then I just close the window when done and I am back where I was on the existing window.

I'd like to fix the problem but in the meantime I tried your suggestion and it seems to work well. Thanks for the work around.

It seems there is no concrete solution. When you hit back it refreshes the page.

Right click and open in new tab. Close the tab when done.  
 
I've heard that Internet Explorer is the most commonly used browser to download other browsers, such as Chrome or Firefox.  
 
Maybe those other browsers would work better?
