Looking for the best solution to be able to have my computer on the internet (in rural communities) when there is no WiFi available.

You don't need WiFi to have internet. If you were asking how you can hook up to the Internet in rural areas, your choices are RFnow, Netset and Explornet. The latter uses satellite signal whereas the other two uses wireless towers.

hotspot or stick

make sure you have a decent data plan on your phone and use it as a hotspot for your computer or get a rocket stick to plug into your computer you can check with your wireless provider
