NetSet adopted in the Xplornet family??

Just saw the news in my email and on FB that NeSet is now going to join up with Xplornet.

What are your thoughts on this? could this be a good thing or not?

(Please do not use this as chance to brand bash I do not want to see depraved comments about either company just a clean debate)

Wow that’s a big one, certainly seems to make sense from a business perspective considering the transition that’s taken place with Bell/MTS.

I’m sure folks that get service from either provider will have questions of their own that will be answered over time... The main question I’d have is the short and long term effect on local jobs, something NetSet has become an increasingly big player at. How much will be kept in Brandon and how much will be handled out of head office out East? Hopefully as much as possible is kept here to manage Manitoba operations!

Answering my questions above, Via the press release...

“Xplornet will maintain the NetSet Communications tradename and retain virtually all NetSet’s employees and business operations in both Brandon and Winnipeg. ”

Doesn’t matter to me as long as our service stays the same or improves and my cost stays The same

The netset name has a lot of negativity around it with upset customers. So its likely a good thing for netset more so than xplornet.

That being said xplornet will gain all the infrastructure netset has built in the province.

But since the netset name will stick around and operate under the xplornet brand I'd say xplornet is winning more with the acquisition of the infrastructure. The netset brand isnt well revived and for justified reason a lot of the time.

Im not say they are a horrible company or the service is crap, but, there are many issues xplornet will need to resolve.

Just different ownership. Most of the staff stays as well.
