you would suggest that mr stanley let them come onto his property take whatever they want and then leave. they arrived with at least one gone and were in the process of attempting to steal property . usually waiting for a police response is futile .he should have the right to protect what is his. He does not have the right to use lethal force to protect property, but he can use whatever reasonable force necessary to protect human life. To protect property, people can take pictures, get insurance, and report to police for POLICE to do their job. He has the right to protect his belongings but not at the cost of human life. As for the facts of the case, they are, as far as I know, still being disputed.
The intense racism that was exposed following this incident is very concerning to me, and justifying the killing of another human being is something that is very serious to me. The kind of remarks about being entitled to kill a human being in protection of material things is, to me, totally disgusting.
