My Carbon Tax

Has anyone looked at their natural gas bill lately

On my 82.36 bill
Beside the normal PST and GST

15.48 carbon tax
And a second GST on the carbon tax of 5%

This is getting out of hand in my humble opinion

Governments will always collect taxes to pay for expenditures. If it's not carbon it will be on something else.

It is no longer global warming. It has been rebranded as Climate Change. That now covers both hot and cold fluctuations lol. We may be a large contributor per capita but our contribution is a drop in the bucket on a global scale.

I got to thinking about that the other day. What happens if we make it too cold?

and it was only a few years ago that they were trying to get everybody to convert to natural gas!

I find it incredibly irritating that GST is applied to the carbon tax.

tax on tax - another way to grab more money from me - I'm always incredibly annoyed - "mad as hell" actually.

as all my appliances are natural gas so I did talk to a Hydro guy while he was doing an inspection and he told me that natural gas will still be cheaper than electric.
I know electric heating bills can get outrageous.
But yes there was a big push to convert to NG.

Imagine that. In the provinces that didn't play along and have a plan in place beforehand, people are complaining about the forewarned ramification.

I wonder if they are still complaining in BC, 10 years out. Or if they have adapted by replacing the inefficient cost inflaters with more efficient cheaper models. Be it vehicles or furnaces.

Give it 5 or 6 years. Like the process of switching to the new garbage bins.

"THEY ARE FAR TOO SMALL?! I CAN'T FIT ALL MY GARBAGE IN!"

I use my neighbours bins when mine fill up. Trudeau is crooked and his tax should come out of his pocket not mine. I didn’t vote for this tax and certainly didn’t vote for him.
There are costs to heating our homes and the government has decided to tax us to be comfortable in our government rented houses on our government rented land after we paid taxes on our careers which cost us tax money to get educated for. Taxes get you coming and going and when you die. Get used to it cause I doubt the taxes we pay will ever go down in any significant amount.
