was never directly given $900 million and never was going to. That $900 million was set aside in a separate federal account. All WE was going to do is work with employers and summer students then match them up. The employers involved in the program were going to get reimbursed from the federal government using the money in that account.  
 
All WE was going to get in terms of money was 5% for administrative and rollout costs.  
 
This program has been so twisted around from it's intent by the opposition and many others to create this so called scandal.

don't see Justin's mother and brother doing speaking engagements with WE and getting paid for it being a Conflict of Interest. And these happened over a few years ago, long before this Summer Student plan. In the podcast I posted, they mention that programs like this tend to take months to plan and roll out. In the time of COVID-19, things had to be planned and rolled out in weeks.  
 
I just see it more as a ploy by the Conservative opposition to make anything the Liberal's do into some sort of scandal. The Conservative's want an election so bad in hopes that they will be finally win.  
 
And in a minority government, we are always a vote away from an election which makes the parties have to work together.

5% may only have been a drop in the bucket of the entire program cost but it was 50 million to WE. Trudeau's buddies, as we found out later because the opposition asked a few questions any of us would/should have.  
 
How about the complete denial of the relationship between WE and the Trudeau's? Did you forget about that. Conservatives didnt make that lie. Only after questions were asked did they admit to some family members being paid/working on WE's behalf. That is a complete conflict of interest.  
 
If you give preferential treatment to a business/company you have close ties with, that's a conflict of interest. No questions asked. Not allowed , especially in government. But not for the liberals.  
 
The fact that this program was not open bidding, no other agency was even allowed a chance to participate. Sounds like they had their mind made up right from the start.  
 
Then we find out WE had serious internal problems within their organization and probably was not the best organization to run this program.  
 
Lots of questions by the opposition, lots of lies from the government. They messed this up right from the start.  
 
There must be a lot more hidden in those redacted files on this issue since Justin turns this into a non confidence vote every time the opposition wants a committee formed to investigate this.  
 
From where Im standing, once questions started being asked about everything to do with WE , Liberals defended their choice which turned into them eating a bunch of crow when the truth came out.  
 
I want my government to perform Due Diligence when spending millions of dollars.  
 
The WE scandal illustrates the Liberals had no intentions. That should raise some questions.  
 
 
Lastly, it was not the WE scandal that took down WE itself, they were imploding from the inside out before being awarded this massive contract as details emerged later.

Trevors right about them not being handed the $900 million outright we always seem to get hung up on the big numbers, but how can anyone in their right mind not see the whole process stunk from day 1.  
 
First you've go a sole source contract awarded to a group with direct links to the PM's mother, brother, wife and himself along with finance minister morneau and his family members, who all of sudden realizes he "forgot" he received $40,000+ from WE and cuts a cheque next day to pay them back, nothing shady there lol.  
 
Secondly, we were told that WE was the only group that was able to handle such a program, yet the government runs programs like this all the time, and I seem to remember something about the a government official with this program claiming they asked other groups but those groups claimed they never had been contacted ?  
 
Third, for a party that focused so heavily on accountability and transparency during the last few elections, its kind of ironic they would even contemplate forcing an election to avoid a committee looking onto their affairs.  
 
Which is almost laughable as what do these committees ever really accomplish in the end, no one ever sees jail time, at worst they get booted from office but still collect their golden pension, obviously there must be more to this than we're aware of for them to want to avoid it this badly.

on CBC, a clip of Jagmeet Singh was played again. The question to him was if he was going to support the federal government in the vote. JS said...... he was not going to give the Liberals the election they wanted.  
No doubt Trudeau would like another election in the hope he could get a majority govt so don't always blame the Conservatives Trevor.
