Proportional representation won’t help. It will just cause government to be more dysfunctional. Only first past the post electoral system is acceptable and workable.  
As for Larry Maguire and the conservatives having it sewn up nothing is ever certain. What he does do is represent hard working people and that is why he tends to win. If he had a worthy opponent that better understood working people then maybe they might have a shot in this area. It’s a clear picture of the animosity that the other major political parties feel against rural voters and western Canada in general .  
The only flyers you ever see are from Larry Maguire, the only signs you see support Larry Maguire. If other politicians and parties gave a damn about the people in this area then they would actually put some effort into their campaigns.

Your comments are so incorrect. The only reason the Chretien/Martin government cut the deficit is that the international money bank put their foot down and told the Liberal regime in no uncertain terms that they had to adjust their deficit spending or they would not and could not expect any further financing from these international lenders. Their lending practices changed dramatically but their own spending did not. They passed along less to the provinces, cities and to healthcare. In all cases they created fiscal problems for all these lower forms of governments.  
It was because of the deficit spending of the Liberals under Pierre Trudeau that the GST was created. Mulroney brought this into existence to bring the books back into balance.  
And yes Harper created large amounts of spending when there was a world wide recession. We were in Canada the most fiscally sound economy in the G7 because of his leadership and came through this world wide recession pretty well unscathed. He created a plan to bring the books back into balance and left the succeeding Justin Trudeau with a surplus which he promptly turned into spending and a deficit.

Guess you would rather live under the presidency of Biden. who stumbles and bumbles even with his cheat notes and monitor notes and cannot complete a sentence nor a thought correctly.  
Thousands of illegal migrants come across the southern border infected with covid-19 which is then spread across the USA. In the meantime Canadians who are fully vaccinated are not allowed across the northern border.  
The manner in which he pulled out of Afghanistan is further proof of his incompetence. Thousands of legals were left stranded and many were killed by the Taliban at gun point. The incompetence continues and even gets worse. But I will leave this to others to comment.

Even though the Conservatives will be in charge of this riding for the forseeable future, it would be really nice if other candidates at least tried to campaign here. I'm tired of seeing what the Conservatives want to do, because frankly I don't really care.

Maybe you should care as the conservatives are the only party with any capability to form an accountable and responsible government of any kind for working people.

I supported conservatives when I was employed because I understand how the economy works and how employment and opportunity is created .  
Might I remind you that without businesses there will be far fewer jobs available and the huge ripple effect caused by businesses spending particularly on inputs will reduce job availability even more. I’ll bet you that 95% of everything that my farm business earns is spent on inputs, equipment, maintenance, finacial services/ banking and various taxes much of which is multiplied many times over throughout the economy especially in western Canada.  
Without business , free enterprise and particularly small businesses there wouldn’t be an economy.

I know this is off topic but are there any advance voting options available this upcoming weekend? I don't think I would be available to go vote on election day since have to work and have no vehicle to drive to my voting location during that time? Or is it too late for such an option

Where better would you like to go for direction? The laws of decency in all countries in the world were formulated and based on instructions from the Bible. People didn’t come up with initially defining what is right or wrong. Everything that measures good, evil, honesty, morality etc. is based on biblical instruction. What the Bible says is black and white, still IS black and white, in spite of societies trying to mix everything together into gray. AND I’m pretty sure the model for “ traditional family values“ has been around a lot longer than the 1950s. I commend everyone regardless of political stripe for placing value on these guidelines. Good on the Conservatives to show some integrity and make it part of who they are.

how important business is. I appreciate all business because they contribute to our tax base.  
 
As for farmers Farmergeorge you know how important you and others are to our country. What would we do without you?

Obviously without businesses the majority of workers would have no job , the two go hand in hand..

We should be voting for policies that build communities and locally owned small businesses are the foundation and building blocks for communities.
