Just saw this story come across the wire - nice to know that the busses will keep rolling in Manitoba.

however I would much rather see Manitoba utilize local bus services (I believe there was a group of charter bus operators that were looking into grouping together to provide the service that Greyhound provides, but for less money). This sets a precedent for Greyhound that they can hold the taxpayers hostage in the future whenever they please. The government should be looking into an alternative plan now as I'm sure it won't be long until Greyhound comes crying for money again.
Bottom line in my opinion : Glad to see bus rolling - on the other side, Manitoba taxpayer money should not be propping up a Texas-based company with a call centre in Kingston, Jamaica when we have willing business owners here at home that WANT to provide the services!
