Robert Latimer is being released

VANCOUVER - Robert Latimer, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of his severely disabled daughter, is being released on day parole.
The National Parole Board Appeal Division has reversed a decision from the parole board last December refusing to grant the former Saskatchewan farmer release.
In a written ruling released today, the appeal division wrote that the board's decision denying parole can't be supported in law.
"A delay in releasing you from imprisonment would be unfair," the appeal division wrote.
"Accordingly, your appeal is allowed, the board's decision of Dec. 5, 2007 is reversed and you are to be immediately released on day parole."
