Council should be looking for a new CAO, immediately, totally unacceptable.

as a counselor i would think you would be able to bring you concerns up at the next meeting and hopefully you would have the support to get something done about that  
 
like i said i am not in your area to vote but if i were these issues would be a huge concern imo and something i would want to know about, i would also want to know who opposed you in getting these issues resolved, you are in the prime position to make people aware, hopefully the rest of the area agrees with you

if they are supposed to supply it then they should, asap.  
I think bringing up these concerns with more constituents would be good, perhaps holding a monthly coffee would be a good idea?

I think a monthly coffee meeting is an excellent idea. If residents can suggest a convenient time and place (possibly the Old Style butcher shop) we could try to do that.

I find it strange that most people have focused on Gambling trips and have very little interest in Financial Statements and the Financial position of the RM.

Can the R.M. re-post these so they are not sidewise on the page. I'm sure they make very interesting reading.

That states that MD Rome was censured and that he has been prohibited from posting municiple related topics on social media!

so looking on page 5/6 it looks like you are not actually allowed to post on these sites, Im not sure why you would not be allowed to talk to your constituents but from what i gather things got heated in other matters and council has put a ban on these types of publications....care to elaborate

I believe that as Canadians we are guaranteed the right of free speech, as long as it is truthful and not defamatory, we are protected. There are those that attempt to limit our ability to speak and inform the public by utilizing Resolutions that you have read in Municipal Meeting Minutes, in particular August 19th.

If you read the minutes closely, you will see that the "Censure Motion" was defeated by Council. There was a back door Resolution subsequently presented by McDonald and Paradis. It should also be noted that these resolutions were authored by the CAO without the knowledge of Head of Council or 2 other Councillors. The Resolutions were in the possession of the CAO for 2 weeks prior to the August 19 th meeting and were intentionally withheld from Head of Council.

i also agree with free speech, especially for our council members, i want to know whats going on but this iis not my RM so ill leave it at that

this is an open page, look under meetings. And I am not representing the rm.... just tired of seeing inflammatory posts that divert attention from real community issues. I don't see any other professionals engaging behind the cloak of ebrandon to work out workplace/political matters..... Has anyone seen a post from Justin Trudeau.....

Not my RM either, so will only say that there are always 2 sides to a story.  
This situation may or may not be an unfortunate result of forced amalgamation, which can result in friction among council members (and staff).

Ebrandon is a very essential service to engage the public and sometimes the only way to encourage discussion.

If the motions where defeated then why are you wasting taxpayers dollars suing the R.M?

As my title reads I have not much to say on this however I would like to express a few thought. For anyone who has been following the couple post on ebrandon regarding the RM of Oakland-Wawanesa do not let this discourage you from what our municipality has to offer. We have wonderful scenery thought-out our municipality from east to west and north to south. We are very fortunate to have a great volunteer base within our Municipality right from the Brandon hills, Carrol, Nesbitt and Wawanesa area. We as well have sporting events for all slow pitch teams in the Brandon hills, a great youth soccer program in Nesbit as well as well hockey and ball programs in Wawanesa. So please let me invite everyone to come visit our Municipality and I believe you will see what I mean and you will wish to stay.

I should first note that after reviewing additional minutes on the RM website at the link below, it appears to me that the legality of the resolution prohibiting social media usage may be undergoing some form of review or challenge:

I am not privy to all facts behind the reason for the resolution being tabled and passed by a count of 4-2 nor any facts relating to any legal proceedings and therefore will not pass judgement on this case personally. That said it has been passed by council, is detailed at the link posted by an eBrandon member above and I have seen no information that would indicate it is no longer in place. As a result eBrandon will respect the resolution at this time and this discussion will be closed.  
 
Should there be a legal challenge to council's ruling eBrandon would also respect the results of that challenge whatever they may be and this discussion may be re-opened at a later date as appropriate.  

As there is always two sides to a story, you would be wise to look at the full story before attacking character. It is in the best interests of all taxpayers to understand the full workings of Municipal Government. No elected official should be muzzled for asking pertinent questions of staff.
