Not even sure how to respond to this except to say that your "core beliefs are not compatible with [my] way of life" but I can live in the same country as you regardless.

The Tsarnaev family visited the US in 2002 and promptly applied for asylum. Dzhokar came first with his parents and Tamerlan came 2 years later.

The new federal government has stated that they are determined to bring in 25,000 refugee claimants by the end of the year, carefully screening and vetting everyone of them. The end of the year is just six weeks away. As hard to believe as it seems, government bureaucracies do not work 24/7 and government offices will be closed for Christmas and New Years. When you account for weekends, that means all of this screening and vetting will have to be completed in approximately 32 days. If you do the math, it works out to screening about 782 refugee claimants per day, or 90 to 100 claimants per hour. That's less than one minute per refugee claimant.

It's a lot to imagine, isn't it? For the last 32 months, my husband and I have been working on his permanent residence application. They told us initially it'd be over in 14 months but at 32 months there's no end in sight for us. That's the kind of broken system the minister is inheriting...If they can pull this off in a matter of weeks, I'd sure like to know how.

Interesting, in your comment you mentioned that you were a Muslim so I'm taking it that you no longer are, and you also mention that if you left they killed you, and yet here you still are.  
 
During the Iraqi war the was a story come out about a mercenary group, well that's what I call them, these were not Muslims and were Americans and men from other countries as well. These men took a female coworker and repeatedly raped her and kept her in a storage container, and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. This was documented during the war and was factual, so I guess I could also say that the majority of non Muslim men are rapests and have very little respect for women.  
 
I guess we could look at statistics on domestic violence in places like Syria and Canada and make a comparison.  
 
You are saying my conversations with two muslims means nothing but you life experiences represent all Muslims. I'm pretty sure that we could find many women in this country or even in this area that have very little use for males in this country and maybe even have experienced things like you have.  
 
Question for you, do you think that things like this happens in this country especially when maybe a different race is involved.

Good thing that you live in Canada and not one of the 20 Muslim countries that have laws against leaving Islam, or one of the 13 countries where the penalty for this is death.  
 
Good thing we don't live in one of the 33 islamic countries that criminalize blasphemy, which can include just being critical.

Religion is very slow to change and when connected or protected by law does become a dangerous thing, if we look at countries that may be considered Christian countries we maybe aren't to the extremes that Muslim countries but how long ago was it that if a person refused to swear oath on a bible they could be held in contempt, and for some reason I imagine that there are still many areas that it still does apply.  
 
Will also add that I do agree with much that you said in last nights comment on the problems that have arose by removing Sadam from Iraq, although I still think that the main push for the war was not on orders from God, but because of weapons of mass destruction. When I look at that war I have more of a feeling that it was a situation that a dog should never bite it's owner, I doubt that many people know the motives for many of our conflicts, I'm not really a conspiracy person but know that there are many things that happen because of hidden adgendas.

Maybe so but unless you are Muslim, neither of our core beliefs require killing each other.

It was hard to stop laughing long enough to post this.  
 

It wasn't an effort to try and say that you were racist, just more of an observation that it seems that men treat women, of a race that is different than their own, with less respect than if the woman is the same race as themselves. For some reason people people always seen to find it easy to find faults in those who are not the same as oneself. All one has to do is read through nearly any topic that comes up to see it, we see it in politics, religion, race, social standing, or even the raising of children, we all seem quick to point out the faults of others without really looking at ourselves or those we defend.  
I can easily say there are bad Muslims, but I can also say that it applies to all including atheists, I can also say that although some societies may not share the same standards as us in many different areas it is not our job to change them. There were comments about over time we may be forced with Shia law, but look at our own history, we talk of freedom and rights and yet we still have a society that is not respective of certain people in our own society.  
 
Final thought, I at times have had to deal with government with programs that have been offered, and I know that you become a number in the system and sometimes things take forever because of paper pushing, and information is submitted reviewed and then later resubmitted and reviewed again, and the process takes forever. What I am curious of when it comes to these refugees is of all the ones that are supposed to be coming how many are numbers in our system. I believe that if most are already in the system then fast tracking may not really be bad, but if we are fast tracking people just to make a deadline we may be making a mistake, but this is a point that none of us seems to know for sure.  
My feeling is without that piece of information we are all speculating.

about bringing in refugees are really only about making sure we find the people who will be most able to adapt to our society. I assume they are coming for the long run and if they have nothing, that is going to be very difficult for them. Long after the immediate crisis is averted and people quit posting on message boards about it, they will still need to live, work, have a home and clothes and food, etc. It has to be sustainable for the refugees and for the communities they come to.  
 
I am not as concerned about terrorists hiding in with the refugees. I think ISIS wants us to think that, for sure. They are very adept at turning people against one another. They've shown that they are able to recruit our own people through the internet. I am sure they have more efficient ways to infiltrate our society than to hang out in a refugee camp in horrible conditions with millions of others for months on end just hoping for the chance that they'll be one of the 25,000 picked to come to Canada. I truly believe that nobody would live in those conditions as a part of a plan to come here and cause problems. The people in those camps are there to escape terror, not to cause it.

I personally am against the "refugees" coming to Canada. The US is considering bringing in 10000 after they have been thoroughly vetted or screened; and the majority of their citizens are objecting to even that number saying it is too many. The USA has a population of about 10 times that of Canada and our government wants to bring in 25000 unvetted before Christmas. Someone in Ottawa really need to give their head a shake.  
These "refugees" are either terrorists or they are not true refugees because they are already outside of the threat of Syrian persecution or the threat of ISIS. These types of people therefore fall into the category of economic refugees. We would be much better off to help them in the middle east with food shelter and any other life needs. They would remain with in an area where they speak the same language, maintain their religious beliefs, and maintain their own values which certainly are not the same as Canadian values

Let's see what's on the news today. Girl speaks at we day a year after being raped and left for dead in Winnipeg. Hostage taking in brandon. Boy abducted and assaulted in lac du bonnet. But yes. Refugees are the ones who will destroy canadian values...

I wonder how many years it will take refugees involved in these mass relocations to file lawsuits similar to residential school claims. This may sound absurd but, is it?

Why not come out and admit it, it is not really Muslim terrorists you are afraid of, it is Muslims in general, willing to bet if you were in a room where there was no light,and a baby started to cry and then there was a gunshot and no more crying it would be a Muslim that fired the shot.  
 
As for the truth, when president Bush said he talked to God and was told to go to war, that was the truth right, or do you allow a certain amount of grace for those who aren't Muslim.

As indicated in your post, the police have more than enough on their plates without the added burden of terrorists.

Exactly. They are humans. We are humans. Their lives are actually at risk, that is why they left their homes, their belongings, their neighborhoods, schools, jobs. They have actual fear for their lives, not 'I saw something on the news and it scared me' fear.

I searched "No go zones in Cities" to see what you were taking about. Most of the results were questionable websites that had no verifiable links and seemed to promote xenophobia.  
 
As far as I can tell, "No go zones" are an Urban legend.

There are "no go zones" in england but they're a bit more mild then what there made out to be. They're not closed off, anybody can go there, police go there, its just that police rarely get called to these areas, the Muslims deal with things themselves, and there's "Muslim street patrols" who go around taking alcohol away from people and scolding women to cover their bodies, apparently this is very common and there's videos of it.

So say they don't make their timeline and they make an announcement that 15000 are coming by Christmas and the rest next year. I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. But the general sentiment, not only in this thread, is "we don't want them". That's a problem.

Did you say Canada accepts 250000 immigrants annually? Divide that number by 12...
