After watching the debate Pallister won't rule out two tier medicine in fact he won't answer on questions on privatization.

Did we lose any oil jobs in Manitoba? I think we do have oil workers here also.  
 
During the debate your Pal Pallister never answered a question. I am starting to think the reasons he doesn't show up at these debates is he doesn't know the issues. It will be very interesting if he becomes premier how he will perform at meetings with other premiers and the Prime Minister.

We already have that.  
 
When shut ins have to wait for months in Brandon for a test but can spend money going into Winnipeg or other health centers that is twin tier .  
 
When out of Province test results are accepted when people with money can afford to travel to get them sooner that is two tier.  
 
We already have two tier plus private labs and clinics.  
 
We should never rule out any possibility of improvement or ideas from any healthcare system out there.  
 
Cripes the number of Canadians coming back from the USA with their MRI results is too many.  
 
If our health System does not want to buy/staff more of these machines why not let Tobans go at their own cost and have Manitoba Health pay for the test(s) until the back log is gone or reduced?  
 
Re: Palliser. Weasel type answers. I have no problems with him not ruling out more private options but where is any firm plans on much of anything from him that have real teeth?. Though he certainly can not do any worse than the dippers but he certainly should not win this election on health care without some skin in a new plan other than we will consult/listen/blah blah blah.  
 
Even some best practices other provinces are using could be fodder for discussion!  
 
 
 
He plans on shaving 300 million off spending. Name the top 3 saving with hard numbers! Duplication is a soft easy weasel type word.  
 
300 million is easy to say when you have no hard figures on any single item  
 
Our problem is Greg has a cheque book with a unlimited number of cheques. Brian has the proper sized one but no hard plan on how he will keep it balanced maybe with a surplus nor how revenue will keep it healthy.  
 
Even Brian has not said how our debt will be paid down.  
 
Gregs pot shot that we are only spending north of 5 percent servicing the debt ignores the fact that interest rates are at a low and probably will go up.

You think he is dumb, wow, what are you saying about teachers? Pallister is a former teacher.  
 
Seeing as my Pal Pallister was in the hot seat from three other hopefuls he had to spend more time defending himself that he could answering questions. That's the fate of the front runner.  
 
The NDP are worried about Pallister, they must think he has the brains to win this election, not sure why you think otherwise.  
 
Oh well, in six more days we will have an answer.

I think why Pallister was being attacked was because all the other party leaders don't trust him and he evaded all questions.

If the PC's win I'll have to head to Alberta, houses should be cheap now after losing 53000 jobs this year after the PC's out there have caused a 10 billion dollar deficit.

Don't blame the pc"s this one is all ndp. Meanwhile mb's deficit is over 36 billion thank's to an inept ndp gov. , and the reason mb. hasn't lost as many oil jobs is because we don't have many to begin with. Mb. has very little industry, why is that? Why do the potash mines in sask. end right at our border? How come our gov. in 19 years has developed virtually nothing? How come mb. has the highest number of gov. employees per capita in the country? Each one of those jobs costs the taxpayer more money. Time for a change.

Read the article something about uncontrollable spending over the last 10 years has caused Alberta's problems. I think it was the PC's in power over those 10 years.

So in your world the NDP are responsible for the deficit increasing in Alta. not the lower oil prices.

You don't read very well. The very first post on this topic insinuates that we shouldn't vote for Pallister because he was part of the Harper government. This is an attack on Harper but then you obviously didn't support Harper and by association have taken a swipe at both Harper and would see no harm in using his name as a method of taking a swipe at Pallister.

When losing in the poles, a candidate will become desperate for attention.

The current Ndp govt has run out of ideas. They spend all their efforts spreading the same old lies they have used for 17 years.  
PC will sell off crown corp. getting a little old, Ndp will take care of health care, anyone tried to find an open er in rural manitoba or better yet a doctor.the school system is a mess, lowest scores in manitoba.  
Even the last Ndp cabinet was sick of the rot and some of them quit. This is a tired old govt that needs to be put out to pasture, dont worry they will all get pensions the rest of us can only dream of.

from the oil industry tanking their NDP gov't is giving freebies away? Examples TV, microwave, fridge, stoves for seniors? Plus the gov't will pay for repairs on senior's homes.

I want to share a couple of things with you if you didn't make it or hear the debate on radio.  
 
Isleifson applied to sit on the Keystone board and the application was denied by the NDP government, why?  
 
When the candidates were questioned about the possibility of selling or leasing a portion of the Keystone centre the trio answered this way.  
 
Len -why not?  
Vanessa -yes  
Drew -no  
 
So Drew would rather the Keystone continue being a tax burden on citizens than make some cash for their coffers? wow! A lease could be a cash cow for the KC.  
 
ACC redevelopment, the moderator asked what year could the place be finished and Drew said "immediately" Vanessa said it would take 30 to 40 years and Len said it would be nice to have it next year but it would take a lot longer.  
 
That ACC plan is 90 to 100 million dollars. That's a ton of money but Drew wants it done NOW.  
 
Anyway it was a good debate and I'm glad that I went!

Don't be silly. The hydro mega projects have barely staryed. If they get stopped in a month or two the that is a huge cost savings, and they have just as many customers as ever. They could easily be sold.

How much Debt do you want this province to be in?  
 
Mr Selinger is so hell bent on changing the topic from how much debt he has put us in to...I don't cheat on my taxes.  
 
I don't give one rats butt about mr Selingers tax return. It's about how poorly and how much of my/our tax dollars you have spent and how big of a hole this province is in.

Are you really serious. Have you ever owned a business or made a budget. To have the balls to raise taxes is the stupigist comment I have ever seen. Raising taxes show you can't handle your own affairs, if you were in business you would declare bankruptcy. Being fiscally responsible should be mandatory if your Liberal,Ndp or PCs. Spending like a drunk in sailor and raising taxes is not respecting the citizen of Manitoba. If the Ndp could get their house in order I would vote for them.

I will be supporting Drew Caldwell this election. Notice that I didnt say Selinger nor did I say NDP. I am voting for the person who i believe can best represent Brandon East. If the NDP formed govt it would be nice to have a cabinet minister in Brandon East again. If the PC form the govt we will need a STRONG voice advocating for Brandon East. Drew has done an excellent job of representing Brandon during his time in govt . I feel that Len Isleifson ( a nice guy as well) would be more of a yes man to Pallister and Brandon East concerns would come second to that of Pallister. Vanessa? Well she couldnt even complete her first term on council so voting for her is a throw away vote. Thats my two cents.
