I am in no way shape or form a fan of his. The first promise of lowering the PST is a example. Not yet. Probably not in his first term.  
 
Now he says can find the 300 million in savings to replace the lost tax coin.  
 
I am sure he can. How about finding more savings and watch out for new spending first and keep the PST as is until we are back to surplus The savings and 8 percent PST should do it by next budget.  
 
Greg's reply was just a classic. The PST cut will bring doom and gloom. Cuts will mean no flood protection etc.  
 
Not a chance that Parlier may find other areas?  
 
The Liberal simply do not have the election machine to stay in the game and some of their promises make me wonder.  
 
Myself I think is a Gimme for the PC's. I wish all three parties would simply get rid of the word promise and use intention. Especially the opposition. Wait until you see the real set of books.  
 
Brad Wall said it best several weeks ago.

The promises are lies and every politician makes promises.  
 
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I heard that the PCs would reduce the PST 1% but would be raising other taxes to take it's place. Did I hear correctly?  
 
The Manitoba NDP should hop the next Westjet west. We are done with them here. Alberta can have them all.  
 
I don't like what the Liberals are, period. Trudeau makes Canadians the laughing stock. It trickles down from the top. I don't want a Liberal "working" for me.  
 
I've read tweets (since been deleted) from some candidates and I'm already tired of it all.  
 
Each party should build up their own platform and sell me on it instead of bashing the other parties because for me, that approach only reflects badly on that accusatory party.

The rest of Manitoba will have the Ndp again if Winnipeg votes Ndp. Lately my Facebook has been bombarded with union messages saying vote Ndp. I thought they could not do that during election.The Ndp is using the same old message about job cuts and selling off crown corp. Seriously, who would buy hydro after what the Ndp has done to it?

I feel it will be a lean PC majority with NDP opposition. Liberals won't get the traction they expected, but they will likely pick up two seats, one for Bokhari and one in Kevin Lamoureux's old riding. Brandon will be completely PC for the first time since the 60s.

I'll vote for the party who I believe will have the biggest scissors.

I likely will not be out to vote at all as there currently is no Green party candidate or Liberal candidate for our city to vote for. I definately won't be voting NDP or Conservative. The Green party would be my first choice ideally but I would vote Liberal as a protest vote.

Even if you write "Decline" on your ballot, please vote. I think that is what you are supposed to do.  
 
I'm not very pleased with any of the choices that we have and that is probably what I am going to do. This way, it shows that I voted, but it isn't a spoiled ballot. If enough people do this, then maybe the parties would see that the populace don't like what they are seeing and getting and will actually do something about it to give us good government.

More protest votes ask Alberta how well that is worked out. Or look federally how a protest vote against Harper got us Trudeau and now Canada is a laughing stock with what will be soon a 25 billion new debt. Or wait until the US is done protest vote against Democrats or a protest vote against Republicans will get Hillary. Vote for who is going to represent your interest do not make a protest vote.

None of the platforms really interest me yet. For the first time ever, I'm leaning towards not voting. I will not support a party if I don't agree with their platform.

I don't think any political party represents the average person any more, if they did we would not see government grow under every political party. Trump and Saunders in the states sort of proves this, not everyone, but a very large number of people are fed up with the idea of candidates that belong to the (system). The right is no longer conservative, but represents business, and not all business but large business, and the centre and left represent special interest and labour, the way things are, most of the people who want responsible government get ignored.  
I watch some of these commercials put on by groups,in our province, which talk of cuts as the end of the world and in a way are trying to sway our vote to a party that is supposed to care about ordinary Manitobans, but from the way I see it is they haven't represented the ordinary person for a really long time.  
 
Who am I going to vote for, I haven't a clue anymore, one Green Party candidate mentioned about a minimum income for families, which might sound good but will mean more tax revenue is needed to make it work.

I commented on Filmon cutting budgets and government jobs that were redundant and put in place by the SpenDP.  
 
I also called the SpenDP fiscally irresponsible.  
 
How is that not acceptable?

in the federal election and am perfectly happy with the outcome of having the Liberals win and Mr. Trudeau as my Prime Minister. I agree that no party has a perfect platform, however the Green party seems to be the most responsible party when it comes to their platform of both social and environmental responsibility. It would be nice to see them elected either provincially or federally in the future to see what they do. I will likely go the another posters recommendation of writing decline on my ballot.

Does anyone know how many seats there are in Wpg.vs. rural Manitoba?  
Although not excited about a PC government, it really seems like it's time for a change. One can almost sympathize with those U.S. voters who are supporting Trump, just tired of the same old career politicians.

We seem to two NDP Governments left and probably will be one in April.

Provincial politics are not the same as Federal in most ways. In my opinion once in power be it Liberal/PC/ NDP Provincial Governments tend to be more flexible and one could say lead more right/left than they campaigned on. Especially if is a Party new to power.  

There are too many socialized parasites in this province and that is why the NDP are showing decent in Winnipeg polling. People rarely look for the greater good or long term consequences these days. These are two things that the current NDP can exploit.

Mulroney, Burgess, Filmon, Harper etc. etc. A platypus is still a platypus no matter what zoo they came out of hiding from!

The situation in our province ( and in our country)is that we are millions in debt, don't want taxes to rise or loose any services. We have politicians that make promises of more with no plan on how to pay for those promises or how to pay for the programs they put in place. The only thing that are concerned about is the sort term , getting elected and keeping the job they have .  
 
Is it sustainable in the long term in the long term I would suggest no. They wonder why many people do not vote. Many people feel that the people elected to run our province are willing to kick the can down the road to protect themselves and there four years in power vs. making changes for the future of the province.  
 
Whomever gets in will have to deal with a hole that has been dug from the past parties that created it. The old saying of if you want to get out of a hole then first you have to stop digging! will it be easy to fill the hole ? No ? will something have to give ? Time will tell . The only issues is that when you have the ability to get money our of increasing taxes one has to wonder when it will come to a head.

How has Hydro been ruined? They still basically have a monopoly on providing power to over 1 million residents, and have quite a lot of generation capacity to export power.

Google search the Bipole 3 project and see what it says. That is part of the problem it is The biggest waste of money the NDP has continually rammed down our throats. It is not going to do many generations of Manitoban's any favors paying for it,by increasing hydro rates!. One opinion is its a waste of money and not needed at all. The second is if you must build it, it can be done much cheaper, but the NDP aren't listening, and basically now trying to seize the farmers land towers are being built on.

Bipole III has barely started construction. Any buyer could cancel the project if they wish and save a large amount of the project costs, I doubt it will scare off potential buyers who do their research.

Next week the Manitoba Party will officially announce their candidates - and will be a registered party with a choice for the people mbparty.ca

There are 31 city and 26 rural - seats are based upon population so the rural area gets shafted every time - what Winnipeg wants Winnipeg gets

Rana Bokaria says she will make ambulance rides free to anyone making less than $20,000 a year. Even someone making minimum wage makes more than that. So she should be able to live up to that one. Not sure if she has a clue sometime with what she says. Usually it is "we'll have an announcement next week". So definitely she wont be the next premier.  
 
Everyone pays taxes which pays for fireman and paramedics so there really is no need for these fees.

This really is a difficult election to get excited about. None of the leaders have the "likeability" factor.  
Have not even heard who is running in this constituency (Riding Mountain). But it won't matter, this riding will no doubt remain Tory blue.
