There is alot involved in designing, building and facilitating a hospital for an MRI. If I'm not mistaken Dauphin is still waiting for one that they were promised a few years ago. Building is ready, but the promised MRI went to Winnipeg instead. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm not right. " |

for the reply, slo mo. I have family in the Dauphin area so the MRI was a hot topic of discussion over the holidays.
I pay close attention to politics but I am sick and tired of party politics, so basically I am annoyed with both the NDP and PC. It was kind of funny hearing the NDP and PC partisans in my family argue about the MRI.
From what I've read, the NDP promised an MRI in Dauphin as part of their election platform in 2011. They won that election. My question then was 5 years enough time for the NDP to fulfill their promise in its entirety and have a fully functional MRI up and running before the 2016 election?
I understand that there was some delay after the PCs won in 2016, but they have recently announced that the MRI project will continue and Dauphin will get its MRI.
The ultimate question is did the NDP have enough time to get and MRI up and running before the 2016 election?
Also, when a new party is elected, and they have a chance to have a close look at the books, are they obliged to keep promises made by a previous government?
