I'm in need of a hearing aid  
Any suggestions,places for testing  
places to purchase  
makes/models

Are the only two places I would go to. Both very professional and knowledgeable. They can tell you what model of hearing aide will best meet your needs.

They are very nice, knowledgeable, they have loaner hearing aids for you if yours is getting repaired, free batteries and you can also get payment plans, and better warranty.

get one. Literally thousands less than comparable units sold in town. Not as convenient as local but the dollars saved will be worth it. And batteries cost me fraction of anywhere else I could find them. I go to the one on St James and the staff have been very good to deal with.

That is just silly. You need to have your hearing tested by a professional. They will recommend something and give you a trial period of 30 days. If you don’t like that hearing aide they will give you another one to trial until you find the right fit.  
Sure it is more expensive but you can then be sure you are getting the most out of your hearing. Buy something off the shelf you don’t know what you are going to get.

If you can get to Winnipeg, most places are cheaper than Brandon, but Costco is hands down the lowest price by a 50% margin.

You do need to drive to Wpg, but we plan our trip to include buying groceries. The savings on groceries easily pays for the trip.

I went the Costco route. I had a assessment. They then recommend what kind of aides we should get.  
 
I have had them almost two years. They were very helpful to me. The cost was below what I could get in Brandon.  
 
The downside is you have to drive to Regina or Winnipeg. They are fairly busy so it may take a month to get an appointment

Claude at Beltone was very good to deal with but make sure wherever you go that you try different models.

My quote in Brandon was about $8k. The "same" hearing aid at Costco was less than a third of that. The Audiologist (splchk) was very professional and thorough and follow up support has been great. Definitly no like buying a can of beans "off the shelf". I got a 90 day trial period and more warranty coverage than I was offered locally. I tried local and and for the occasional trip to the Peg (have found them very accomidating to set up appointments) when the spouse wants to do a day trip, not much of a hardship.

That I would double check that you are dealing with an audiologist. What you will find is most of those places are run by simple technicians who can test your hearing but they cannot fully assess your hearing problem. Only a doctor of audiology can do that. I have had technicians give me some awful advice and what hearing I have left is precious to me.  
I’ve received excellent service from the hearing clinics here in Brandon. While I agree the cost is more. Having them close by has helped when the aids breakdown. They give you a demo to help you out until your aid is returned. And with hearing aids being more complex with Bluetooth/programming etc for me it is peace of mind knowing I have someone close by.

the message here is that we are both satisfied with the service we have received and that our problem has been resolved to our satisfaction. I have printouts from both Brandon and Winnipeg tests and the resulting differences were negligible (at least to my ENT specialist). I had no complaints with the service I received in Brandon but, when it came to the $ difference, I just couldn't justify the $5000+ difference esp since it was coming out of my pocket.  
BTW, lol, I struggle with smartphones and programming. The simple ones work better for me and I don't have to get them serviced more than once every 3 years. Sometimes, 5 days without the hearing aids are like a holiday.

Got some hearing aids from them that have a remote to turn them up or down and were reasonably priced and excellent service and very helpful towards repairs or problems personally I wouldn’t switch places

My folks both just got theirs at Costco last year and have not had any issue. I can't speak to the quality of the audio tech but the price was thousands less and had made a world of difference. No more arguing at family dinners

On my 2nd set, they will do a cleaning while you wait.  
Very busy, service is phenomenal.  
Well worth the money.
